Exactly one year ago to the day I saw your video The One Minute Painting which completely changed my life. I watched it over and over for hours (I'm not even kidding) until I (thought I) memorized every detail, every movement, I even counted the number of sprays. I was no artist but I could see there wasn't a lot of artistic decision making going on. It was clear that you were simply going through a process, following a recipe if you will. This is what inspired me to try it myself; even I can follow a recipe.
That same day I bought some poster board (of course, IT WAS THE WRONG KIND LOL), gathered a few cans of paint and a straight edge from the garage and headed for an unused part of the backyard to make my first painting.
Needless to say, you definitely made it look easy. After referring back to the video half a dozen more times I was finished with my very first piece of art, ever. Man was I proud of it too.
Looking at that first piece of mine now, one year and between 4 and 5 hundred paintings later, it blows my mind, Brother. While I can see now that I had potential there was no way I could have known that spray paint art was about to change EVERYTHING for me.
I just want to say thanks, not for putting yourself out there but, for the WAY you put yourself out there. You've done it in such a manner as to allow people who are serious about it to learn this artform for FREE if need be. It is you, Brandon, through your other website, who has made this information available to EVERYONE if they're willing to search for it.
For that, my friend, I stand and applaud you. Bravo!
I can't begin to imagine the opportunities that will present themselves in the year to come and beyond.
I hope that knowing you have the power to change even just one persons life the way mine has will provide you with more inspiration to continue doing what you do the way you do it because it reaches far beyond putting paint on paper.
...stopping in to say... man it's been a while and i've been away far too long. Time to start breathing on my own again -- thanks for keeping it all together and always being here. You rock -- tty soon bro.
you were the reason that i started painting. Now i cant get the paint off my fingers. everyday is another day to get better. if you could take a look at my gallery and leave me any feedback on any of my paintings that would be awesome . you are the best and i want to learn from the best. so thanks for getting me into to this obsession. and keep up the good work
