Hi barbie!!---just tried out some new techniques and though this would probably be good for your  SAND coloring in paintings.   I actually used a piece of crumbled up wax paper.   Use tan with a little yello and brown added on the paper...then go over it / stamp it with the wax paper...the more you work it...the more it blends...looks like stone or sandy like..  Try it out..  MSB1110

Is it cheating to use textured paint? They sell sand paint in a spray can. It takes forever to dry though. I've never used it in my spray paint art but I have used it in my mixed medium art. Works well with a stencil but has really bad control.
