Back in late 80's early 90' I was at Venice Beach, CA and saw my first example of Spray Paint Art. I recall thinking, poster board, spray paint and what do you think your really going to do with that? Less than 10 minutes later I got to see the magic that evolved and was amazed at what could be done with these simple tools. Fast forward to 2011 and I am online searching for Acrylic techniques as I wanted to try acrylics and see how that went (disappointing/expensive) and found a video with the Spray Paint Art. I said to myself "Hey, that looks fun, lets give it a try". Needless to say I have fallen in love with this method of art and hope to do well.
I must say though and this is important, my posts/pics may look familiar to others on MySpacePaintings.com and in a way feel a sense of plagiarism (copying someone else's work and calling it your own), and wanted to clarify my intent is not to copy someone's imagination but only to understand how the specific technique/method was used to achieve the effect rendered. I am at a stage where I am ready to start using the techniques and methods learned to branch out with imagination and see where it goes from there. We'll see, my struggle is still in perspective and understanding how to get that 3D effect. I look forward to ideas, suggestions, etc and sharing what I have learned as well through trial and error.
