I have no problem with this type of stuff on the forum. I think it is important for all of us to push the boundaries of this art form and one of the nice things about the artists here is that everyone shares what they learn. I really like the way you used natural leaves with different paints to create something different and unique to you. Love it!
Sounds like this is a good example of the Mixed Media I was referring to in the forum. I'm interested in seeing how artists mix spray paint with other media in order to get what they're looking for out of their finished product. I feel there's loads of applications and possibilities as far as how the versatility of spray paint can be utilized to make different kinds of pieces so it's refreshing to see what you've used it for. Nice work and congrats on the sale.
Linda, I knew it was yours before I even looked to see who painted it! I love the contrast between the foreground and background, the leaves actually POP! Almost like they are in their own dimension. I love this pic. Love Barbie
This painting is in response too Mundens forum about mixed medias--the background colors were created with watercolor, allowed too dry, overlayed with real maple leaves, oversprayed lightly with black spray paint, branches painted in with acrylics... I have already SOLD this painting which is 11 x 14" for $50.00 at my show this summer, we live in Maple country and these type of paintings sell well with parents here visiting the colleges etc. The lady didnt blink a bit when she saw the price... she commented on the uniqueness of medias used too create, if this is not acceptable on here let me know, just trying too give new ideas how too keep painting and not have too use alot of spray paint if we are confined indoors for the winter,,, other medias can make our projects shorter and just as effective....PEACE-LINDA
