What Brands of paints has everyone tried and what seems to be the best.

Rate the brand 1-5 5 being the best, for the color, nozzle, and longevity. And list the price in your area.

Color Place: 3 color, 3 nozzle, 3 longevity  $.96-$1.12

Krylon: 5 color, 1 for the 180 tip and a 5 for the normal tip, 4 longevity $3.72

Rustoleum: 5 color, 5 nozzle, 5 longevity $3.96

Painters Touch: 5 Color, 2 nozzle, ?? Longevity  $3.27

Color Place is a great paint to start out with in my opinion. It works with the techniques of spraypaint art and allows those of us on tight budgets to get paint that is fair. The down side is that it does dry quick and does not have the color options like the other brands. When painted side by side the color of Color Place is not as vibrant. The spray amount is light which means you are spraying down light coats and you may need to make double the passes of a different brand. Finally, it seems that the Color Place cans do not last as long as its counter brands.

Krylon would be my favorite brand but They discontinued the tips that I like. The colors they offer are good in selection and very full and bright.

Rustoleum is good all around. Great selections of colors to choose from and they all are very vibrant. As if they were pulled right from the color spectrum. They spray volume and area coverage is ideal for me. The only issue I can think of is the time it takes for this brand to dry. It is the longest of the paints I have tried.

Painters Touch is a Rustoleum brand and with that carries most of its qualities. The colors are brilliant and plentiful but I have a huge issue with the tips. The tips have a bad habit of collecting paint and spitting if all over your work. Theses cans also have what seems to be a heavier spray. I mean more comes out faster and in a smaller area. The cans are pretty and the tips look cool but for me... the simple fact is the spray makes it uncomfortable to use.

Color place is a good paint. It sprays evenly and dries quickly.  The only downfall is the color choices are limited.  I get it for .96cents.  I'll give it an all around rating of 4.

Krylon would also be my favorite if not for the 180 tips.  Too hard to control especially on smaller paintings. Good color choices....Rating 2

Rustoleum has a great color selection.  The paint seems to be thicker and my tips seem to clog faster.  Rating.............4

I've never tried painters touch therefore no comment

I find myself getting angry at color place. The white is getting thinner and thinner as is the black. Also the colors are muted. Keeping it wet is easy TK, just buy lots of clear. Every time it starts drying hit it with clear and it's like you just started.

Krylon was good paint with fantastic colors but not anymore. It now forms a skin and tends to tear. They are tinkering with it too much and discontinuing too many colors.

Rustoleum and all of its other brands are the best out there for us at this time. The way I deal with drying time is a heat gun. It drys in seconds when you hit it with 700+  degrees of heat as needed.  Heat guns also open you up to all of the metalics without any bleed through issues.

Also  we never ever use fire. It is a law of averages thing. That marble in the can will kill you if the shrapnal doesn't. I know we have all done it. But The plastic tip is not a saftey device. It melts fast and boom your on the 6:00 news. My insurance would drop me if I lit my spray and thats like losing a couple million bucks plus all the places that require my companies insurance before a venue. The art form is cool enough without the parlor tricks.
