Hi barbie!!---just tried out some new techniques and though this would probably be good for your  SAND coloring in paintings.   I actually used a piece of crumbled up wax paper.   Use tan with a little yello and brown added on the paper...then go over it / stamp it with the wax paper...the more you work it...the more it blends...looks like stone or sandy like..  Try it out..  MSB1110
