Anyone got some good planet texture ideas, apart from magazine sheet???

of course the magazine page... but also newspaper... wax paper... some ppl use notebook paper for a different look... just try anything and don't get too worked up if it doesn't come out the way you hoped.  Just keep at it!

somthing i have been doing lately is puting down my colors for a planet as usual, i then lay a smooth peice of magazine paper on it and press hard  with my entire palm. while pressing hard i turn my hand in circles. it creates a very smooth hurricane-like effect on the entire planet and it looks very cool if you use the right colors.

i started using like.. cling wrap ? ...


idk why but i just love how it looks, much better than most other things ive tried. i also like really thin ... ad/magazine type paper. what i got mine out of was a compusa ad/catalog thing..


but yeah, if you have time try cling rap (saran wrap, whatever you want to call it)

As I stated in the other forum, I tend to use a paint roller or soak the paint while it stlll wet into a loose leaf sheet of paper and slowly pull up on it
