Hi Everyone,

I'm new to this site and brand new to the spacepainting technique.  About two months ago I was surfing the web and came across spacepaintings.com.  I was amazed at the paintings.  I thought about buying the DVDs and put them on my wish list to purchase.  Two weeks ago I sent for the DVDs and bought my supplies last week.  Over the weekend when no one was home, I tried it out.  All I can say is WOW! I can finally do something that is artistic!  I got such a thrill from doing it and still when I look at my two paintings, I am amazed and so proud of myself.  So was my mom and my youngest niece.

I've posted my first two attempts at doing the painting. I need to find a way to take good pictures of the paintings as the glare from the overhead lights or the flash overwhelmed some of the picture details. I have some photo geeks at work who may be able to help me.

I have a corner of my garage set up to do the painting but have to wait until I have some lights set up in the work area so I can work in the evenings.  So I may not be able to try any more painting technques until this weekend.  I have something to look forward to!

I hope to learn lots and hopefully can pass on anything I can figure out to any one else.

California eh?  You're lucky because you can most likely paint year round.  I'm here in the midwest, 27 degrees at the moment but it's supposed to warmup to a crisp 40'ish! lol

Anyway - I too am a garage painter... I ended up putting painters' drop cloths on the walls and creating my own little spray booth in one corner, and then drying tables on the other side of the garage for finished pieces.  It works out for the most part -- have to use space heaters for the cold months.

It's really great to hear about your recent triumphs with spray art -- congrats on finding a niche that you can immerse yourself into and be happy with.  It'll only get better as you grow as an artist - just keep at it and dont get frustrated.  And if you have any questions that you couldn't find addressed in the videos please feel free to hit me up, or ask "Spacepaintings" (your #1 friend on the site)... he's the creator of this site as well as the DVD's that you purchased.

Looking forward to seeing more of your work as you continue to paint!
Talk to you soon!
