Has anyone participated in any indoor shows? I've been asked to participate in one and I'm not sure how the fumes will affect others. they have never had a apray painter and I have never done an indoor show. I was wondering what others did.
You're welcome. A lot of times even the ppl running OUTDOOR events have no idea what they're getting into when asking a spray paint artist to do their event. I've had organizers request a demo before the event, and organizers that specifically asked what I do about the overspray... and I've had vendor neighbors ask me not to paint because it blew into their booth... It's hard without some form of enclosed table.
You CANNOT do an indoor show with the intent to paint. It will cause all kinds of issues and if they asked you to participate then they have NO IDEA what they're asking.
I paint in my garage - with respirator - often completely closed up so the neighbors dont bother me - and there's no way anyone can really be in there at the same time because of the cloud of fumes. And that's in a 2-car garage. It's not healthy and definitely NOT a pleasant viewing experience. Not to mention the vendors around you - they will be complaining the whole time. I would assume that the moment you started painting within minutes someone would be asking/telling you that you have to stop in order to be considerate of others.
Even if you had a spray table like Cosmo which has a vaccuum built into it to suck the overspray down into the table I still don't think it would be absolutely clean air.
Maybe they just meant for you to show your stuff... like a normal arts/crafts show. I do those throughout the cold months just to keep me busy.
