Winter shows are tricky. You have to get a ceramic heater and warm at least 4
main colors. It helps a lot to have a tent walled on 3 sides like your own little igloo and a heat gun to
dry each layer. A 3 minute painting will take 5 but will look right if you use a
heat gun. I have done this in the snowstorms in MN, NJ, NY, OH, AR, NM, IL, TN and IN. Heat gun
is 30 bucks at home depot. Tent is $96 walls 30 something. Heaters around 20
bucks. Sounds like big investment but winter can be a long time. You can make
several thousand dollars in the winter. With a small investment. When you doing
a show like that one bring give aways it helps to have party goers carrying a couple
paintings around to get a crowd started. I  have a show Nov 20th in NJ outside for 4 hours. I have no Idea what the weather will be like but I am sure to me a Florida boy it will be cold and even 50 degrees can turn paint to jelly. I would not let weather stop me or I would have had to get a real job every winter and hurricane/tornado season, for the past 10 years. Also never do a show for free. Make them pay you something for the entertainment that way they will feel obligated to corral people to you. If you can get them to pay you then you can give away art and it cost you nothing. I won't sell the first painting Nov. 20th and I will make $2,300 less my travel expenses. I am not saying the local fire house can or will pay that much but they can pay you $50 bucks and hour for a couple hours after all they put on an event didn't they?

it gets cold & crappy here in Kansas City.... but i managed.

Well you have two choices, one you can throw in the towel or 2 you can chalk it up to experience and keep on painting, not your fault that they put you where they did, obviously they dont understand the weather and spray painting! Well there are gonna be other shows to attend, a talent that you have should not be wasted! We all have horror stories, I try to laugh them off, learn and keep going, dont give up, maybe take a little break and then show um what you are made of! Barbie
