Subject: i'm surprised there isn't more mixed media...
Content: I'm surprised there isn't more mixed media involved with what we do.  I mean, it seems quite clear that we, the spray artist, are pretty inventive with the tools that we use to create, yet I haven't seen a lot of painters mixing the media with anything else.  Maybe I just dont get out enough! lol But for example - I showed my family the spray artform and both of my artistic aunts were wondering if I had ever tried doing acrylic paintings because it involves some similar techniques.  Of course it also frustrated them to see that I could basically put down a quick 15 minute landscape painting that could be an exact copy of one of my aunt's acrylic landscapes that she sat for 4 hours putting together. (she likes to paint on-sight) But I would assume that mixing the media could be a potential evolutionary leg of this artform - possibly creating a new branch of spraypaint art.  But what would be integrated with it?  How would it interact with other forms of paint? Or even pastels or pen & ink or whatever?  And even though it would still be art - would it be well received by the spraypaint art community?  Or would it be considered an unpure (couldn't use the other word I was thinking) form and therefore not true to the history of spraypaint art? Has anyone in this forum seen any integration with spraypaint art?  Any good examples where spraypaint has been used in mixed media pieces?  Or bad examples for that matter? Art & the artist are ever changing... ever evolving... constantly learning and expanding...
